We made the Suddenly Greek Pasta Salad and had it with our lunch.  It was super fun for us because it was out of the ordinary and super easy to make.  I thought the Suddenly Salad box noodles and mix by itself was a bit plain, so we jazzed it up with garden fresh cucumbers, freshly picked garden basil and some large olives.  The cucumbers, basil and olives did the trick and the flavors were really great!  You could also add feta cheese and tomatoes!

Here’s the review from the kids:

  • 14 year old said, “It tastes O.K.  I like the big olives in it.”
  • 13 year old said, “It tastes really buttery.  I like it…especially with the olives.”
  • 11 year old said, “It tastes really delicious especially with the basil and herbs.”
  • The 5 year old said, “Do you have any more blog food for us to eat?”
  • The 4 year old said, ” I only like the olives and cucumbers.  Can I have a jelly sandwich, now?”

I absolutely love the Zak bowl.  Great serving bowl and great with little ones—it doesn’t break!  I also love the Pyrex storage container.  It’s a great size too!  I love, love the Gemline insulated tote bag!  Perfect for keeping things cool in the summer time and a great thing to take to the grocery store to carry home your freezer and refrigerated groceries.

The opinions are my own and the  information, prize pack and giveaway have all been provided by Betty Crocker through MyBlogSpark.

Thanks Betty Crocker and My Blog Spark for a fun lunch break today!

And I have a question, if you have the time.  I’ve noticed that you’ve mentioned going to Sams recently.  We go to Costco, and *part* of that motivation of choosing Costco over Sams is due to the whole Walmart thing that you guys have talked about on the other blog.  I would be curious to hear about choosing Sams and if somehow they are separate from Walmart.
    Thanks!

    • Hi Shyla….The only reason why I am at Sam’s currently is that I have a Sam’s membership that hasn’t expired yet that was provided for us by someone else. And my Costco membership is expired!

When the Sam’s membership expires, I will be repurchasing a Costco membership. I prefer Costco over Sam’s for a variety of reasons. Costco has a LOT more organic foods. Costco also has coupons 😉 And I like the Costco store layout and area (the one in Cool Springs)

Yes…Walmart and Sam’s are the same people…..If I were you…I’d stick with Costco if you are able. Sam’s doesn’t have anything extra or better I don’t think…their prices are very comparable but on many things the Costco option is organic and the Sam’s option isn’t.

Ideally….I’d really prefer buying local food and growing my own—wouldn’t most of us??!!! 😉 —but …I’m just not there yet with the ability to do that. Unfortunately, it’s the culture we have inherited. Even Costco is a big corporate giant that isn’t a friend to local economies….and has a lot of anti-Christian values….. I hate that…but we have to do the best we can with what we have.

I do like the convenience and price of the bulk food with our large family…especially with me pregnant right now.

  10. Thanks for the great giveaway!! I’d love to win!
