Baby Diaper Stockpile Deal at Rite Aid

I’m super excited about the diaper stockpiling deal I was able to take advantage of at Rite Aid this week.  I got the tip on the Rite-Aid Huggies diaper sale and rebates from The Thrifty Couple.  They posted an awesome strategic diaper stockpiling scenario.  So I decided to check it out and see what I could come up with. 

First, I signed up for their Wellness Reward card.  It works like the CVS Extra Care Bucks rewards program.  This week, Huggies diapers were on sale for $8.99 when you used your Wellness Card ($12.99 regularly) and giving back a $1 UP reward (one UP reward per transaction in my area).  Also, you can submit your receipt for another $2 rebate on buying Huggies diapers in the form of a SCR (Single Check Rebate).  I find it easier to submit the Rite Aid SCRs online.  Also, there is a Huggies Rebate through Rite Aid until 7-22-10 if you buy 5 packages of Huggies diapers, you get a Huggies Voucher for a pack of diapers up to $11.49. 

So while that is all confusing sounding, I loaded up 3 kids and took them to the store with me to see if I could stockpile some diapers for a good price.  We got to the store and to my great delight was a shelf of diapers marked 50% off!  Ohh, happy day!

They had a large variety of diapers, Pampers, Luvs and Huggies diapers and pull-ups marked 50% off!  So I altered my original plan in the store with a pen and paper and quickly worked out this deal based on the clearance sale.   Here’s how it came down: 

Transaction 1:

Bought:

$6.49 Pampers Swaddlers jumbo clearanced
$6.49 Huggies Supreme jumbo clearanced
$8.99 Huggies Pure and Natural jumbo (sale ended 6-19)

Used:

- $5 off $20 Video Values Coupon
-$2 Pampers coupon (coupons came in a diaper sample I requested)
-$2.50 off Huggies Pure and Natural printable

Total:  $13.65

Got back $1 UP reward
Submitted rebate for $2 SCR Huggies diaper pack

Transaction 2: 

Bought:

$6.49 Huggies Supreme jumbo pack clearance
$8.99 Huggies Supreme  jumbo pack clearance
$8.99 Huggies Pure and Natural jumbo pack
and two boxes of clearanced out Goldfish to get my total over $25!

Used:

- $5 off $25 Rite Aid purchase for signing up for Wellness Rewards
- $4 off 2 packages of Huggies diapers printable
- $2.50 off Huggies Pure and Natural diaper printable
- $1 UP reward from the first transaction

Total:  $14.67

Earned another $1 UP reward for buying a pack of Huggies in this transaction.
Submitted Huggies Diaper Rebate for an $11.49 voucher for a package of Hugggies diapers. 

Ending Up

All said and done, I spent $28.32 out of pocket
-  the $4 I got back in UP rewards and the Rite Aid Huggies Rebate.
-  the $11.49 diaper voucher.  
and I got 36 Gifts to Grow points for entering in the code inside the Pampers diapers I bought

In the end, it works out to being 7 packages of diapers for around $3 a package!!!  ( I didn’t subtract the $11.49 from my out of pocket…I just added another package of diapers to my out of pocket expenses minus the $4 in rewards and rebates.)

Now that I totally confused yall…. I’m going to go add my diaper deal today to my diaper stockpile and organize my closet!  And yes… next week I’m going to try and do the CVS Huggies diaper deal.
